Insiya Dhatt has been a member of BABA since 2017 when she attended the BABA holiday party at Kit Davey’s house. Insiya’s book arts journey started with classes at SFMoMa, BABA and San Francisco Center for Books.
Insiya creates artist books primarily based on her personal stories and observations. Having grown up in India, as a Muslim woman, she questions and challenges herself and the viewer about the rules and norms of society.
Her artist books are held at university collections among which are RISD, UC Berkeley and Baylor University. In addition, she currently serves as a Board Member at Hand BookBinders of California and Focus on Book Arts
