Artist's Statement

Participation in the Book Arts for the last year has me swimming upwards to a big breath of fresh air that is unlocking more of my creative self.

After learning some book-making basics through Foothill's Book Arts classes, I have assembled journals with beautiful materials and exquisite binding stitches. Now I am working on experimental books that combine my art and writing with that of another person's. I am also working on a series of books that combine ideas of story, memory, and conversations.

My favorite modes of creative expression are writing, the visual arts, storytelling and dance. I use these and other arts in my studio when providing creativity coaching.

I have worked in art-related jobs in the following fields: museum, education, research, publishing, high-tech, family/domestic, and non-profit. The most satisfying work I have ever done is Creativity Coaching. Providing and facilitating art/process workshops is my second favorite!

Always at-hand artist materials are colored pencil, paint, ink, mixed media, extraneous things from living life, and my camera.
