Bio
I am an artist, bookbinder, teacher, and librarian living and working in Santa Cruz, California. My studio rests at a place where cows and brussel sprout fields are all that stands between me and the ocean. I'd like to spend a lot more time there.
Artist's Statement
My pieces celebrate collecting, storytelling and odd characters.
The materials that I use include: my own handmade paper, bookbinder's mull, old wooden boxes, and found metal. I like to combine these things with my exposed spine bindings and other found objects to tell stories.
I also enjoy rescuing old books in distress, tearing them apart and giving them new life as scrolls, wall books and other objects.
